Puri is a Holy city in the state of Odisha in eastern India. It is situated on the Bay of Bengal, 60 km south of the state capital of Bhubaneswar and is located at a distance of 35 km from the Sun Temple. It is one of the original Char Dham pilgrimage sites for Hindus. Puri is known by several names since ancient times, and was locally known as "Sri Kshetra", and the Lord Jagannatha temple is known as "Badadeula". Puri and the Jagannatha Temple were invaded 18 times by Muslim rulers, from the 4th century AD till the early 19th century, to loot the treasures of the temple. The temple town has many Hindu religious mathas or monasteries. Puri has been chosen as one of the heritage cities for the Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) scheme of the Government of India. With the sun gleaming on the pristine waters of the beach, the place is ideal for holidaymakers looking for some solitude. It is often flocked by devotees visiting the beach for a purification dip who come to Puri to pay their homage to Lord Jagannath. The beach is also renowned for the sand sculptures made by internationally known sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik. The sculptures are usually inspired by the art covering the temple walls or other mythological characters or episodes. "
On arrive Bhubaneswar airport / Puri railway station, meet and greet by our driver and transfer to the hotel. Check in to the hotel and enjoy "Bhagwan Jagannath Bhakti" in Puri or stroll on Puri beach.
After breakfast, transfer to Bhagwan Jagannath Ji Darshan and visit other famous temples.
Today, after breakfast, check out from the hotel and visit Konark Temple and then drop off at BBI Airport / Railway Station.
