Ooty or Udhagamandalam is a well-known hill station in the Nilgiri range of Tamil Nadu in India. This hill station is a perfect holiday destination for honeymooners, families and groups of friends. Ooty is surrounded by hills, lush valleys and tea gardens. Doddabatta Peak, Avalanche Lake, Pykara River, Ooty Lake, Rose Garden, Ooty Boat House, The Tea factory and many more are famous sightseeing places. There are different types of restaurants available in the city, from Indian to Italian. You can try local snacks as well,l like spicy groundnuts. Do not forget to take a ride on the Toy Train that covers the journey of 45 km in 5 hours. October to February is a good time to visit and enjoy the festivals, while April to June is good for relaxing. Mudumalai Forest Sanctuary is another attraction for nature lovers and children to educate. As for souvenirs, you can shop for homemade chocolates, cheeses and spices.
